Test Results of the Samsonite Lite Shock
Key Points in Brief
It’s the lightest suitcase in the world!
The Samsonite Lite Shock isn’t just the lightest case in my test. It even takes first place in the overall ranking of the 10 lightest suitcases in the world. One of the most important features of a good suitcase is that it should be lightweight. The extremely low weight of the Lite Shock is due to the Curv material used, which also comes with a huge extra benefit.
Break-proof shell & high durability
The Samsonite Lite Shock also takes first place in the test for materials. The shell is made of Curv, which is made of woven polypropylene ribbons. This makes the shell extremely flexible and shatterproof. Even with an enormous amount of force, the shell does not break, it just deforms. Currently, only Samsonite is using this innovative material to manufacture suitcases, and it is comparatively expensive.

Good handling with small drawbacks
The Lite Shock also achieves first place in handling. The telescopic rod can be adjusted as easily as butter and is extremely stable. The handles and zipper are also very easy to use. You have to make small compromises with the wheels, as they are relatively small. The rolling behavior is still surprisingly good and smooth-running, although not quite as stable as with larger double wheels.

Conclusion – Samsonite Lite Shock Review
2nd best Suitcase in the Test
Test result
The Samsonite Lite Shock takes first place in 3 of 5 test categories (handling, material and weight). Above all, it convinces with the high-tech material CURV (braided polypropylene), which makes it the lightest suitcase in the world and its shell is almost indestructible. The handling is also better than any other suitcase in the test.
The fact that it still has to admit defeat to the Samsonite Neopulse in the overall ranking is due to the comparatively low amount of space. In comparison, it occupies only the 8th place. Points were also deducted for the components due to the relatively small unicycle wheels and the lack of lining in the interior.
Overall, the Samsonite Lite Shock achieved a very good 2nd place in the test. Due to the low weight and the comfortable handling, this suitcase is really fun. However, fun also comes with a price: It was the most expensive suitcase in my test. However, it also promises a long service life, because the material is very stable and the wheels can be easily replaced at home.
