Only the Samsonite Spark SNG soft case offers even more storage space. Due to the possibility of expanding the case using a second zip, it is also very flexible in its size.

I am also very fond of this model’s design. The Hauptstadtkoffer Alex is a classic hard suitcase available in many different colours. The price is fairly low for a model with this equipment. It has rubberised double rollers, protective caps on the corners, TSA lock and the interior has been very well thought out. The ABS plastic used is very hard and the surface does not sustain scratches very quickly. However, the material also has its downsides.

The material’s hardness renders this suitcase relatively heavy. In the weight comparison, it occupies only 10th place. Especially when travelling by air, a heavy weight is quite bothersome. The ABS plastic is also not very flexible. As a result, it does not do well at absorbing shocks and other forces and the shell will break quicker. The advantage of this material is its lower price.

I liked the Hauptstadtkoffer Alex’s design and large storage capacity. So if you are looking for an affordable branded suitcase that offers plenty of storage space for luggage, this suitcase definitely fits the bill. Only, however, if you are not bothered by the comparatively heavy weight.
The interior design is well thought out and I like it very much. However, this cannot conceal the poor way in which the suitcase rolls and its wobbly telescopic rod.
In this price category, I would rather prefer the American Tourister Soundbox. This is the value-for-money winner in the test. If you can afford to spend a little more on the suitcase, then I recommend the Samsonite Neopulse, which is the winner of the test.
